Christian & Gianna's Iglesia Ni Cristo Wedding in Auckland | A Love Worth Waiting For
Some weddings stay with you long after you've packed away your cameras. Christian and Gianna's wedding was one of those days.
As an Auckland wedding videographer, I get to meet couples with all kinds of love stories. Some happen quickly. Others take years to unfold. Christian and Gianna's story is about patience, faith, and two people who waited a long time for the day they could finally call each other husband and wife.
Their beautiful Filipino wedding took place at an Iglesia Ni Cristo chapel in West Auckland, followed by a reception at Allely Estate in Kumeū.
And behind their wedding day was a story worth telling.
One Beautiful Love Story
One of the things that makes Christian and Gianna's relationship special is their shared faith.
Both are members in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), dedicating their time and talents to serving in the Church.
For them, faith isn't simply something they have in common. It's an important part of their lives and the foundation of the journey they've chosen to share.
Gianna had never been someone who rushed into a relationship. She was careful about giving her heart away and had turned down people who expressed their interest in her.
But then she met Christian.
A kind, devoted, and faithful young man, Christian was different. Somewhere along the way, Gianna found someone she wanted to build a future with.
What followed wasn't a hurried love story. They waited years for their wedding day, holding on to their hopes and continuing to pray for the moment they could finally be married.
I think that's what makes their story so meaningful.
Not every love story happens on the timeline we expect. Sometimes, the most important moments are the ones we wait the longest for.
An Iglesia Ni Cristo Wedding in West Auckland
Christian and Gianna celebrated their wedding ceremony at the Iglesia Ni Cristo chapel in West Auckland, New Zealand.
For a couple whose lives are so closely connected to their faith and their service as organist and choir member, being married in the Church was especially meaningful.
This wasn't simply about celebrating their relationship. It was about beginning their married life with the faith and values that had been part of their journey all along.
As their wedding videographer, I wanted to capture more than just the ceremony itself.
I wanted their film to remember the story behind it—the years of patience, the prayers, and the commitment that had brought them to this moment.
Weddings like this remind me why storytelling matters so much. A wedding film doesn't just preserve what happened on the day. It can also remind a couple of everything it took to get there.
A Filipino Wedding Bringing Family and Friends Together
Another beautiful part of Christian and Gianna's Auckland wedding was the number of people who came to share the occasion with them.
Their celebration brought together family and friends from the Philippines, Rotorua, and other parts of New Zealand.
For many Filipino families, weddings are not simply about two people getting married. They are also an opportunity for families, friends, and communities to come together.
And that sense of connection was an important part of Christian and Gianna's celebration.
Knowing that people had come from different places to witness their marriage added another layer of meaning to an already special occasion.
After waiting so long for their wedding day, Christian and Gianna were finally able to celebrate it with the people who mattered to them.
A Beautiful Wedding Reception at Allely Estate, Kumeū
After their Iglesia Ni Cristo wedding ceremony in West Auckland, the celebration continued at Allely Estate, a well-known wedding and events venue in Kumeū, Auckland.
Set among landscaped gardens, with a charming heritage villa and elegant reception spaces, Allely Estate offers a lovely setting for an Auckland wedding.
It's a venue we've had the opportunity to work at before, and it's easy to understand why so many couples choose it for their celebrations.
For Christian and Gianna, it was the place where the next chapter of their wedding day unfolded, surrounded by the family and friends who had come to support them.
I always appreciate the contrast between a meaningful church ceremony and the celebration that follows. They are two different parts of the day, but together they tell a much bigger story.
And for this couple, that story was about finally celebrating a moment they had looked forward to for years.

Capturing Christian & Gianna's Wedding Through Photography and Film
At MATA FILMS, we had the privilege of providing both wedding photography and videography for Christian and Gianna.
Having both photographs and a wedding film allows a couple to remember their day in different ways.
Photographs preserve moments as still memories. A wedding film brings movement, voices, and the atmosphere of the day back to life.
For me, the goal has always been to create something more personal than a collection of beautiful wedding shots.
I want to tell a story that genuinely belongs to the couple.
And Christian and Gianna had a beautiful story to tell.
Their wedding wasn't just about the day they finally said yes to a lifetime together. It was about everything that came before it and the future they now get to build as husband and wife.
A Marriage Built on Faith, Love, and Patience
After photographing and filming Christian and Gianna's wedding, one thing stood out to me.
Their relationship had already been shaped by years of waiting, praying, and choosing each other long before their wedding day arrived.
Marriage will bring its own challenges, as it does for every couple. But I hope the faith, patience, and commitment that brought them this far will continue to guide them through all the years ahead.
Christian and Gianna, thank you for trusting us to capture your wedding.
It was an honour to be part of a day that meant so much to both of you and your families.
May the years ahead bring you even more reasons to be grateful that you found each other.
