The celebrations began with an energetic and colorful Sangeet night, which was full of music, dancing, and pure joy. This pre-wedding event brought together both families and friends for a night of performances, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Gujarati culture. The Wedding Day: A Ceremony Filled with Tradition and Emotion
The couple’s Gujarati Hindu wedding ceremony was a beautiful tribute to tradition. Shilpan, who is a dedicated medical doctor, honored his roots by embracing the rich rituals of his culture. One of the most touching moments of the day was when Shilpan read a surprise letter he had written for Karisma on their wedding day. For seven years, he had written her love letters, but this one was reserved for their special day—a gesture that left everyone in awe.
The ceremony itself was steeped in symbolism, with the couple performing sacred rituals, including the seven steps around the fire (Saptapadi). These steps represented their journey together as they vowed to support each other through every stage of life. The atmosphere inside Shree Swaminarayan Temple was spiritual and full of love as family members and friends watched with teary eyes.
Vidai: A Heartfelt Farewell
We concluded the day with the Vidai—a traditional ceremony in which Karisma said an emotional farewell to her family before officially moving into her new home with Shilpan. This was one of the most touching moments of the entire wedding. While tears were shed, they were tears of happiness as both families rejoiced in the love and union of the couple. It was truly a bittersweet and heartfelt moment to capture.
