Simon & Lucy’s Wedding at Glasshouse Morningside

Ceremony by the Sea

The ceremony was held at Lucy’s dad’s house, right by the sea.

Super relaxed setup. Nothing over the top. Just good people, good views, and a nice breeze coming through.

The celebrant kept things simple too. One line that stuck with me was:

“Today is about choosing each other, not just once, but every day moving forward.”

Simon and Lucy didn’t try to make it into a big performance. They were just present. Laughing, smiling, a bit emotional at times, but nothing forced.

From where I was filming, it felt easy to capture. Nothing needed pushing.

Just Easy to Work With

Honestly, they were just great to work with.

They trusted us to do our thing. No micromanaging, no stress about how things should look.

That’s a big deal, especially when we’re doing a Same-Day-Edit. Things move fast, and we need that freedom to just get on with it.

They also treated my team really well. Respectful, easygoing, and just good people to be around.

Same-Day-Edit

This was one of those days where the Same-Day-Edit came together nicely.

Good moments throughout the day, nice reactions during prep, solid ceremony, and heaps of energy building into the evening.

We cut everything during the day and played it at the reception.

When it went up on screen, the room went quiet, then people started reacting.

But the main thing, Simon and Lucy loved it.

That’s always the goal.

Reception at Glasshouse Morningside

Reception was at Glasshouse Morningside.

Clean space, heaps of room, and just works really well for weddings.

Once things got going, it turned into a proper party.

Simon and Lucy love a good time, and it showed. Dance floor filled up pretty quick and stayed that way.

From a filming point of view, this is the best part. People stop thinking and just enjoy themselves.

Final Thoughts

They’re a fun couple.

They don’t overcomplicate things. They laugh a lot. They enjoy being around their people, and they’re clearly into each other.

That’s really it.

Simon and Lucy, appreciate you guys for trusting us and just letting us do what we do.
